Traded into an Oracle .308 and like it but I can't leave well enough alone.  Mods so far: LMT 2 stage trigger, KAC ambi-safety, KNS anti- walk pins ( un-necessary but had them), Troy front sight, ergo grip.  Future mods are rear BUIS and a new buttstock but will likely keep the commercial tube, buffer, and spring.  Also probably won't replace the handguards with rails.  Troy front sight is gas block mounted and has sling points.  I've read the gas block will tilt because it is mounted with screws holding it in place rather than a truly clamping gas block.  Is there a way to remedy this shy of replacing the gas block?  I guess i could have 2 shallow holes drilled in the barrel so that the screws seat in the barrel but that seems like a bad idea.  Any suggestions on keeping the gas block from rotating?

Drill shallow holes for the set screws on the barrel and put some thread locker on those set screws as well.  Just verify that the gas block is lined up to the gas port before you do this.
Also you can do just one shallow hole.  Doesn't have to be very deep just enought to keep from moving.
Are you sure that gas block is tall enough for a front sight?
-edit- Just seen those buis on Troy's site.  Apparently made for gas blocks.  Didn't know those existed until now.

I was thinking of drilling shallow holes for the screws to seat in.  I am concerned that if I do that and use the sling mount that is built into the sight that it would put too much torque on those screws and snap them.
