I am headed to a gun show this afternoon. Its the first one I have been to in a good while. I have heard about the increased number of folks buying weapons and the inflated prices post election. Does this really only apply to low and mid range guns or are higher end ones going for good money as well? I have an excellent condition LMT MWS 260 with BO mounts and USO SN3 glass that I may let go for the right money. I dont want to hump it if all I will get is ridiculous offers and finger bangers, but if folks are buying up higher end stuff as well I may bring it along. what say you?

I consider good stuff an investment but if you sell it.....be prepared to spend more money to replace her.  Selling is never a good option unless your financials go south.

The prices are still good around here in the Atlanta area.  No panic buying and gun shortages liker there was in 2008.   The only thing that has gone up is ammo prices and that has more to do with the cost of materials going up.

Don't give in to the sellers at the gun show touting it is ithe end of the world for guns and buy all you can at their inflated prices.   If you shop around, there are still plenty of deals to be had, especially online.  Places like CDNN are still dirt cheap.

This. A lot of people got burned in '08 - they maxed their credit cards buying stuff and then lost their shirts because they couldn't unload it for close to what they paid.

Yeah, there are some that are hedging their bets now - putting back some spare parts or an extra lower, etc - but nowhere near the insanity of four years ago.

I went to the show and found no crowd and no insane prices. Ammo was post election prices as were parts. I am starting to beleive the folks hollering about panick buying are the ones who bought a ton of gear hoping turn it into gold post election and the crazy talk is all part of their advertising plan.
