Will a 6mm bullet safely pass through a YHM Phantom 5.56 flash hider? Only way to know for sure is measure the Diameter, you must have at least .020" clearance... Some will have enough clearance some will not, you must check to be sure...You dont want a situation were you don't have enough clearance and cause dangerous senario for you and those around you when you fire the round off and you now have steel, copper and lead flying in all directions... Be Safe and Good Luck. |

Thanks for your service to our country. Ron, just got off the phone with YHM, as I suspected, the YHM 5.56 Phantom F/H hole diameter is too small, you would have to step up to a .30 Cal./7.62mm version and they are typically threaded with a different (larger) diameter & TPI (pitch). I will check to see if someone else makes one of similar design that will work for you. |

Don't sweat searching. I can just have one opened up by a machine shop when I get home. Here's the parts list for my build:
Essential Arms lower Rainier Arms no FA upper Black Hole Weaponry 20" standard profile barrel RRA LPK with 2 stage NM trigger Magpul PRS stock and MOE grip I'm going to order an MOE handguard and see if I can get it to slip over an Armalite NM freefloat tube. If it will, I'll use an Armalite tube. If it won't, I'll probably use a YHM smooth tube. |

Excellent build list, BHW makes great AR barrels, They (BHW) are my preffered (Exclusive) choice for my AR builds, Including my 6.5mm PCC barrels. Good luck, it's going to be a winner for sure...all top notch choices for your components is sure to help in building a great Rifle. |
| You can buy any 5.56 flash hider and open it up yourself using a 5/16" drill bit which will open it to 7.9mm. The 6x45 uses a 6mm bullet so it will clear the flash hider hole with no problem. I did it to a 6.8spc flash hider so I could use it with my 7.62x39 it literally took 5 minutes and cost $0. |

Ive been shooting and building 6x45 AR's since 98........always used standard ar flash hiders .223/556 milspec, or what ever the politicians refer to them.......the 6 mil bullet will pass without fail.............. I want to say that's what I have on my 6x45... ETA: Yep, I just went and looked at my build. It has an UNMODIFIED YHM 5C2 on mine and shoots fine. I will admit though, when looking into the barrel, there is VERY LITTLE room left... |

You only need two one hundredths of an inch clearance, and believe me, to the naked eye it doesn't look like much! |
