Even a base model that would be a good price.
I think Id snag that bad boy.
upgrade a pew parts and you are in.
If its an Oracle, it still will do the job quite well.

Which model?  Some folks don't like the slick side receivers.  For a bench gun, I'm sure they are fine.  I prefer a port door and forward assist.   Also, the 24" barrel models are really heavy.

Mine has an 18" barrel and it's pretty damn heavy too.

Yes! At the gun shows around here the cheapest slab sided sportical is $950+.
If it has the forward assist and dust cover, all the better. Do not hesitate!
Even the two cheaper than dirts near me never get any .308 AR's in.

the one I have has the door and assist and is 18" and it's light.  

I personally get a kick out of grown men complaining about the weight of a rifle given the history of firearms.  1-2lbs is not going to make a bit of difference

I am not really complaining, but my SASS weighs in around 14#-15# with scope and a full mag. I have never really weighed it, but it wouldn't be my first choice if I was going to hike up and down a lot of hills.
It makes my Garand feel like a lightweight.
