DPMS A3 upper with a Daniel Lite Rail.
The rail is about 1/8" above the receiver. Tried loosening the rail screws to adjust it, to no avail. Thoughts?

A few years ago, there have been measurements of the upper that have beem floating around here for a while so you can tell what upper you have. I forget what it is though.

There are as of now only a few rails that will line up properly with the newer DPMS upper.
Some companies like Troy, PRI, Apex have rails that are made for both heights while others like DPMS only fit the new lower height. Daniel Defense, SWS, JD Machine and others have rails that only fit the higher rail. These are great for Mega machine, TM, JD, and Sun devil builds. There have been a few threads about but if you want it to line up you have one option, buy an upper from TM (just released), Fulton Armory, SI Defense, JD Machine or IRA. These all will work with a DPMS lower and still use the old, higher rail. |

From what I see I would guess that this is an AR10 Platform. If this is correct, Bushmaster/DPMS changed the height of their upper receiver as was previously stated. There is now a .060" difference in the industry standard rail systems for the AR10 and the Upper Height on the Bushmaster/DPMS.
If this is not an AR10 Platform weapon please advise. Thank you. |

If your only concern is BUIS, you'll just have to screw the front sight in a few rotations more than usual. Sort of unsightly, though. That is my primary concern: will the front sight have enough vertical adjustment travel to make up for the difference in front & rear rail heights? |
