I have an .308 AR with a stainless 16" barrel. It also has a good double stage trigger. The accuracy is good, but what can i do to make it great? All input is welcome but low cost options and DIYS are what Im really asking about! Thanks!

Feed it halfway decent ammo

I am assuming you arent shooting the Tulammo or anything else cheap...

try different ammo - I would start with the under $20 Federal/Winchester/Remington stuff and then move on up to the more expensive stuff..

Just curious - what AR?    I am seriously interested in the DPMS 308 Compact Hunter (16" free floated barrel, collapsable stock, 2 stage trigger)

also what type of accuracy are you getting at what range?

Try diferent brands of ammo and find what your barrel likes or get
into loading your own.

It's all about ammo.

I had groups out of a DPMS LR-308 and Bushmaster BAR-10 go from 5-6" at 100 yards down to .75 inches at 100 yards just by switching ammunition.

Practice helps too, making sure you have good form, good trigger pull, and a nice stable shooting platform.

Get some Black Hills 168 non moly match grade and see what happens. I am willing to bet the rifle and ammo out shoot you.

Let Bill Springfield triggers tune that trigger to 3 lbs singe stage

if you can, get started on reloading your own. Its a beast within itself but once youv, aquired all your tooling and components, you,ll never look back.

if not.......practice, better trig, diff. ammo as stated

I'm about the send a RRA 2 stage trigger to Bill Springfield to have lightened up. I'm considering sending 2. I'm nervous about sending both, but I should probably just do it and get it over with.

I only shoot shit ammo like TUL on occasion when I wanna plink. But I know it loves Remington match 168gr. it will shoot 1.0-0.7 moa with that. Probably better with someone else behind  the gun.

It's a CMMG MK-3 16" stainless barrel in FDE with a Nikon 4-16x42SF for now. Later a vortex maybe. I love it and it really has great accuracy with good ammo and ok accuracy with poop ammo. It's light too. I'll post pictures of it later

Save your pennies and buy an OBR.  Thank me later.  I would never have believed a semi could group like that until I did it myself on the first try.  168 SMK handloads.

Try some 180gr rounds. The dpms 308s generally like the heavier rounds best.

This will not work for you but of all the things I've tried the single thing that helped the most is neck sizing reloading

but reloading helps the most in general, followed by a good trigger than good optics.
