I have a 18" light weight FAR308 on a DPMS style lower that needs a upgraded trigger. This is my all purpose big caliber rifle, I have no plans to hunt with it but if needed I would. I've narrow it down to the Geissele Enhanced Combat Trigger - SSA-E or the
Super Dynamic Combat Trigger - SD-C. Your thoughts please.

I run a Super 3 Gun.  I like it.

Look at the chart on their website.
My suggestion would be either the SSA or the SSA-E or their flat bow equivalents.
I have the SSA-E in my rifles.

This.

Just go with what "G" recommends...it's pretty straight forward.

really happy with my S3G

If it's all purpose, I would go with the SSA.  I find the SSA-E just a tad too light for general purpose work.  The SSA is still a very highly refined trigger and makes many aftermarket 2 stage trigger look and feel like junk.

I have an SSA-E... in retrospect I might have gone with the SD-E  or swung for the fences and gotten a hi-speed match.

I have an SSA and an SSA-E––I have a strong preference for the latter.

Yeah I really like the SD3gun too, but for the type of gun he is talking about I think he would be better served with a SD-E.

Just picked up an SSA-E.  Have not shot it yet, but can say that it is much better than stock.  Decided on ssa-e as it is simple, rugged, no fuss, non-adjustable, and has to be as least as reliable as the ssa.

+1

I had a S3G in my .308 for a long time, maybe 1200rnds down range. Pinning the trigger was critical.  It required significant attention to trigger discipline to prevent bump firing.

I replaced the S3G with and SD-E and couldn't be happier. While I miss the light S3G, I don't miss the occasional double...

Another vote for this. Put one in my Mega 308 build and I love it. Smooth as could be and the flat faced trigger feels nice.

I agree...this might be your best bet for an all around (or the bow counterpart)
