Looking to see what the "go to" mags for the 2.3 OAL cartridge length.  I've heard all sorts of things about feeding problems, etc.  It seems non waffle PRI mags are the way to go, but at $40+ a pop, I wanted to ask the hive

That's your best bet if you can find them. I've had feeding problems w/the 3rd GEN PRI, Berrett AND C Products w/factory ammo! Might have to 'tweak' any of them.

My go to mag is ASC ... but I don't believe it's 2.3 oal. I can measure one with a caliber when I get home this afternoon. My 17 rounders and 25 rounders run 100%. But again, don't know about the load length. I just shoot factory at this moment.

Hurm...nothing like driving the semi-automatic community back into the stone age

I guess the old nickname "Jammin Jenny" has made a comback

The PRI mags allow longer OAL loading.
I've used C Products and the PRI waffle mags without any problems in two separate rifles.
You're limited to factory OAL with the C Products mags.
I've never used Barretts.

i have several of the PRI mags, waffle and non-waffle, from 15-25 rounders.
I hand load to 2.305, never had a problem

I use C Products mags in my 6.8 rifle. I load to 2.285 with no problems.

I have a few PRI 3rd gen, 2 early model 25rd Cproducts, 2 15rd ASC mags (the ASC were labeled 17rd but I can only get 15rd in them) and I haven't had any feeding issues with any of them. I guess I have been lucky because I have been able to fit my 2.30" length reloads into all my mags.

Has anyone tried these PRI Follower in a Magpul PMAG?

The follower isn't the problem w/using PMag's & 6.8. The Pmags swell when you get more than about 5-7 in a 30rd mag. I don't think changing the follower is going to change anything.

Wonder why they swell?  Maybe due to the way the 5.56 follower sets up the geometry of how the 6.8 rds stack on top of each other??  That's why I'm wondering if a 6.8 follower would change that angle.

Never heard of it being done. prob wouldnt work or that  information would be out.

it's not the angle, it's the inside width and feedlip width that is the problem.  if you compare 6.8 mags to metal 5.56 mags you will notice that the vertical indents are shallower to accommodate the 6.8's need for more internal width.  there just isn't the room in a plastic mag to open up the inside dimensions and retain enough strength, while keeping the outside dimension of the AR15 magazine.

PRI waffle mags  and you can load to 2.315"
Running my 243MGP wildcat at 2.315" with berger 88gr and 2.310" with berger 87gr VLD no problem feeding.

Might be worth a call to PRI to ask them.
If I could convert Pmags with a follower I would use them even if they were less capacity

From PRI Magazines?

I've been running them for years and the only issue I've seen were 2 of my 10 needed a feed lip tweaked (just once).  They have run perfectly since and AFAIK are the only magazines that allow loading to 2.3".  My "Go-to" 6.8 mags are all PRI - the C-Products are for practice.
