I am curious to know what you guys think is the optimal zero for the 300blk using a red dot sight on a 10" barrel shooting subs and supers.  i am thinking 50yrds?

How high over the bore is your red dot?

This thread is relevant to my interests.

I'd fathom a guess that 50 to 100yd would be a good range to zero to. The ballistic drop of the subby rounds is pretty intense. Information I've read shows the supersonics to be around 22-2300fps with a 16" barrel so subbies are less than half the velocity. Zero will shift according to your bullet weight. Suggestion?  Shoot suppressed subsonic rounds with a red dot on a Larue mount and put a good scope, in a Larue mount, for your supersonics.  This will allow repeatable zero for the applicable ammunition. Larue says so :D

it will be co-witnessed with the iron sights

so your zero will change if you shoot both subs and supers from the same red dot?

It might not vary much, but a supersonic is going to have a flatter trajectory than a subsonic will.  100 grains of bullet weight different and 1100fps difference in velocity?  The 220gr subs will fall like bricks eventually but hit really hard.  Heck the 125gr class will stll hit really hard.  That's the beauty of this setup––-you're not stuck with supers or subs––-you have both.  Suppressed use with a subsonic round will be really fun––-read expensive––-unless you reload at which point you'll probably get ammo for half the cost of factory.

I found this for the 300 blackout, 100yd zero

·Yards fps s ft.lbs. in. in. MOA in. Clicks MOA yds ·

It looks to allow for a 2" over bore height for the sight.
