Most quality 6.8 barrels are not setup for front sight base.  You can always send one to ADCO and
have it drilled and pinned.  Are you against the front flip up??  Also, most 6.8 barrels have "MIDDY"
gas on a 16" and carbine gas is used on the 12" barrels.  What length barrel are you looking for??
Honestly I think the carbine gas on a 16" is a bad idea.

Ok......I still don't know what to tell you about the front sight base.
I have not seen any good quality barrels with that as an option.

Yea, I bet they do for $460 per barrel...

Call harrison at AR Performance, I am pretty sure he can cut you  12.5, it will have middy gas but he has said he has 12.5 barrels run with middy gas, and I am sure he could put a F marked front sight post on it if you wanted.

Don't count out WOA (White Oak Armament).

John Hollinger is one of the tops in the business and they make some stellar stuff.

I have a 20" 6.8 barrel on my latest build, going to shoot it today.  It's suppose to be sub-MOA, but we'll see if I can shoot that well today.  lol

Here it is:

Their website is:

Of course, if money's not an object and you want the best of the best, they have another division for that as well:

Why is the carbine length gas system a bad idea on a 6.8 ?   The majority of its velocity is achieved within 12 inches anyway, so why not go with a shorter barrel for a quicker handling gun ?

Because the Middy gas is softer shooting and easier on the gun.  In my opinion, 16" barrels should have
Middy gas on 6.8 and 5.56 rifles.  I wasn't speaking specifically on the 6.8.

Just shot my 20" WOA 6.8 barrel yesterday.

It has a .3 MOA (sub-MOA) with only about 10 rounds through it.

ARPerformance uses a midlength gas system and will pin on your FSB for an additional charge. Their barrels are exceptional. I own one.

Though you are looking specifically for a carbine length gas system, are you familiar with the benefits and superiority of the midlength gas system when combined with the 6.8?

The first barrel is from STAG

The second barrel is from DPMS

Your choice should be ARPerformance as it is superior.

Good luck with your build.

Was told to stay away from dpms and stag. The dpms twist rate is wrong spec I version, and the stag has feeding problems possibly no m4 ramps I forget. Out of all the people I email WOA emailed me and said they could definitly do it and give them a call. So sometime this week thats what I will probably do.

Stag does and does not have m4 feedramps. It is hit and miss.

DPMS actually does use the SPC II chamber now.

If WOA will build what you want, go with them if that is what you are happy with.

Get the 4 groove barrel from WOA, the 4 groove barrels are made from Shilen blanks and the 6 groove are made from Wilson blanks(both 1:11 twist w/spec-II chambers).

+1.  My 4 grove Shilen blank on WOA is a tack driver.  With Barnes 110 TSX bullet, I am getting less than .50 MOA. Took 2 whitetail deers with this past season.

Is this different than the standard WOA 6.8 barrels?

Like I said in a previous post, I'm well under sub-MOA with it, closer to .3 to .4 MOA.
