Where can you get one on-line for $800-$900?

Who makes freefloat railed handguards for the 0.060" lower height?

Online, no where I've seen but you could always call a sportsman's warehouse to see if they would ship it to you on your dime.  Troy is coming out with new hangaurds this year to line up with the new lower height receivers made by DPMS and Bushmaster this year, both the MRF and a TRX extreme.  DPMS also has a few rail available but do not provide a continuous top rail like the troy rails.  PRI has a new top rail for their tubes that is suppose to line up as well.  Rumor has it that JP has a new rail for their tubes as well.  Hope that helps

300 rounds through mine so far and has been awesome. MOA with my handloads of 150 SST and RL-15. Waiting for Troy to come out with their TRX Extreme handguard. I've got 2 buddies that bought a couple also and they're not even shooting their 223's anymore.

I love mine and Sportsman's Warehouse had them for $799 for a while.  That's when I picked up mine.

Yep.

I've added a bipod on the standard mid plastic HG that came with the rifle as a sort of feeling out endeavor to determine if the rifle was worth the effort to improve or leave alone.
I've got a JP Enterprises V-TAC FF handguard in the works to fix the one small issue I've had with my ORC, the cheap plastic handguards don't fit snug. The V-TAC should remedy this perfectly

The trigger is the best I've had with a factory made rifle...

Magpul MOE handguards fit nice and tight.  My trigger is also surprisingly good for a factory single stage.

I originally planned to add a rail but am maybe being converted by how light and handy it is with the plastic handguards.  Might just add a front sight and rear BUIS and call it done!

I did not modify mine.  The heat shield does touch the barrel a bit while sliding on but doesn't touch it when it's assembled.  If you want them to go on easy, then you might bend the heat shield tabs a little.  What I did was to put on the top handguard about 75% of the way and then add the bottom half and pop them together at the same time.  They won't go together if you follow the standard Magpul instructions of putting the top all the way in and then adding the bottom but they'll go on if you just play around with it a little.

What mags will fit this rifle?  Thanks.

Any DPMS/SR25 pattern.  You can use DPMS, KAC, LaRue, C Products & Pmags.  Oh, or the original Armalite.

Does anyone have a picture of an ORC with a railed hand guard that matches the height of the rail on the upper receiver?

[#16]
You would need to call Fulton Armory and drop $160 on a replacement upper to have the old rail height that's compatible with everything out there, otherwise wait for the upcoming Troy.

Here is mine with the older style DPMS higher upper to make it allign with the Troy handguards.  I'm going to get the new TRX handguards when they are out and I'll probably just put the upper and lower on the EE.

Saw one at EPS in GA and it was around 1,000 before tax.  For the money thats a pretty good price on a 308 rifle.

I bought two quite a while ago but came to realize that one in each hand was a bit much on the range so I have to part with one of them.  Coincidentally, it's still new in the box with two mags and is in the EE here for $950 shipped.

I think they are a great deal. i got mine from sportsmans for 710 with military discount. YOu just have to be aware that it is a dpms with bushmaster stamped on the side. And it has the new lower height upper reciever. As long as your good with that it is impossible to beat for price so far. Mine shoots great, functions smoothly and flawlessly. i added a full length vtac free float handguard. I also added magpul stock and cheapie millet 1-4 red dot. it is a very capable 308.

I guess cabela's had these for $ 699. Last week.

The Cabela's in Phoenix had the 223 ORC's for $699 and the 308 ORC's for $999 on sale a few weeks ago.  Their ad was a bit confusing about the price of the 308 ORC's.

I bought one in .308 and put a Nikon 3x9 scope on it.  Took it out the last two days and I am getting 12 inch groups at 100 yards.  Checked the scope and mounts everything looks fine.

EDIT.....

I changed out the mounts with a one piece and changed the scope.  Groups are now in the 6 inch range at 100 yards.  With under two inch groups at 50 yards.   I must need more practice.

Well 12" groups are pretty crappy, something isn't right there.  I was getting 20 shot, 2.5" using an Eotech 552 at 100 yards, no magnification, standing, no sling, using surplus, and trying to get them down range as fast as possible (not really rapid fire but definitely less than one minute)

That's about what my son in law gets with the same equipment.  I think that could be tightened up with a scope.

3" in groups at 100 yards with iron sights bench rested, using south african surplus with mine.

I just had mine (bushmaster orc) out at the range. I have a Nikon 3x9x 40 scope, I was shooting handloads with 169 grain SMK and 42.6 grains of H4895. My 5 shot group was 1.16 center to center. I just shot the one group. Also I don't have have the 2 stage trigger. The one I have seems to be about 5 lbs with a little travel. I was shooting off bags.

With some trigger work and a little patience I think I can do better maybe even sub moa.

I like this rifle!
