Maybe this should be in the "Build it yourself forum" and if so please move it but I thought that I'd get more responses here. What is everyone using to mount their barrels as far as receiver action blocks? DPMS claw? Plywood and vise? Just trying to see what tools are necessary other than the standard ar tools that I already have. Feel free to chime in on the tools that you used to complete your builds. Thanks

I have been wondering this as well, i am thinking of getting the dpms panther claw in 308. I would also suspect you will get alot of wood block replies here.

Other than that I think you just need your regular ar15 wrench, i know that the barrel nut part fit on my JP handguard nut for what its worth.

LOL i ninja edited mine to be second even thought i posted before. . .you would be third lol

But seriously, i would be interested in purchasing one if you were to be so inclined to make one or a few more, heck Ill buy that one from you if you want to sell for a resonable price and ill send it out around the forum so every one can use it just like the guy letting people use his head space guages. Let me know, either shoot me a PM or post something up on here

seriously guys, although that is an awesome homemade block, 2 pieces of wood (preferably hard) do quite nicely.

Not really.  I have seen more than one upper destroyed by doing this.  I am holding out for a proper block before I finish assembly of my MA-TEN.

I have a dual purpose PRI block. One side does AR-15, the other AR-10/DPMS/KAC.

The DPMS claw block - the best IMO. Delrin is strong and doesn't scratch anything. I got it on sale for $40.
