I'm planning on buying one next week.  for me the chrome lined barrel, 16" barrel length, scope mounts, and collapsible stock were what I wanted.  I have a bushmaster 223 that has never given me any problems, so it was a pretty easy decision.  however, if the trigger is like the bushmaster 223 trigger, it will be replaced ASAP.

Well, the awesome deal offered locally for a Bushy 308 was an error-  1280 instead of the 1000 initially quoted.  At that price,  Armalite offers a very similar product.  Which would you buy?

apparently you already have an opinion so why ask. but if it helps any the bushy orc is nothing more than a rebadged dpms optic ready carbine . dpms , bushmaster , remington and a couple of others i dont remember all fall under the same corporate umbrella . dpms makes the r-25 for remington and bushmaster makes the r-15 .  dpms makes a good functional rifle you can tweak to your hearts desire so I wouldnt worry alot about the bushy .

I just bought the Bushmaster ORC but I have not had a chance to shoot it.  I would buy the Bushmaster over the Armalite if for no other reason the magazines.  You can use the P-Mag in the Bushmaster/Remington/DPMS while the Armalite takes a modified M-14 magazine.
