I'm debating on an upper to buy but I have this question. the upper i'm looking at has 1:10 twist but I have seen 1:11.25 twist. I was just wondering which would be a better choice. I will be using this for strictly hunting and shooting 180 to 200 gr. bullets...any opinions. Below is the upper I am looking to purchase. Now I'm familiar with a AR15 but I have a couple more maybe dumb questions.1st: are the buffer tubes interchangeable between the ar15 and the ar10?  2nd: are the grips interchangeable as well. I am asking this because I have an extra ace skeleton stock as well a a hogue grip.

If this is an ArmaLite upper you're asking about, you might want to ask on the ArmaLite sub forum.  The guys who are experts on ArmaLites including the industry rep hang out there.

1st you realize that's a 338 upper right?

the tubes cant interchange, read the AR10 faq

grips GTG with some restrictions, hogue will be fine

338, you don't have anything to be sorry for.  Just thought I'd provide you a little directional assistance.  Until January, I hung out in different parts of ARFCOM then I decided to move up to large frame ARs.  I spent hours on this and ArmaLite's sub forums before buying.  There is a movement to bring all the large frame ARs under one sub forum and I believe that would be a good thing.

I like your idea of a plinking gun.

Either 1 in 10 or 1 in 11.25 will work just fine . I doubt  the Elk or Deer or Black bear will never know the dif.

AR10 doesn't actually kick very much. Then again, I'm pretty manly. But just FWIW my 10 year old AR10 will only shoot 165-168gr bullets well.
And by well I mean sub MOA. While it will certainly shoot 150 or 180 or 200gr bullets 'pretty good' the 165/168gr bullets really shine. I am talking
about hunting bullets and match bullets. I have never felt under-gunned shooting those bullets.

I have a .300WSM that just LOVES 180gr bullets.
