Has anyone out there had any experience, positive or negative with the Fulton Armory built AR-10 type platform? I was leaning toward the DPMS products but someone I know mentioned Fulton.
I currently shoot an FN SPR A1 and 5 shots at 400 yds did a 2.1" group. I am hoping for similar performance out of a semiautomatic platform. Have any ideas? |

Haven't used a full-on Fulton rifle, but I've used Fulton for a build - their 18.5" Kreiger Criterion barrel and chrome BCG, plus small parts. Can't say enough positive things about them, in the aspect of parts availability, shipping times, communication, etc. Completely top-notch, 110%. The only bad thing I might say is - I lived 55 miles away from them, and I BADLY wanted to "pick up my parts" - just a cheap excuse to visit the place and tour a little, you know? No way, no how - Clint wasn't letting that happen. I understand their policy, and I tried to play the "local card," but it wasn't meant to be.
I can say this - from my build with that barrel and bolt/BCG, the gun is very, very accurate. I can only expect that a full-on Fulton gun would be better than mine, with Clint building it. You can not go wrong with Fulton on .308 parts. Edit for gun pic... http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m239/rgrhartley/LR-308Finished.jpg]http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m239/rgrhartley/LR-308Finished.jpg I'm thinking of picking one up myself. It has the 18.5" SS barrel. i was just wondering is 18.5" enough to maximize the round long distance? |
| I have a Fulton Titan Rifle built from the ground up by Fulton. A4 upper with 20" barrel. The rifle shoots sub MOA out to 300yds (that the furthest I've shot it) with factory ammo. Build quality is very good, the only problem I had was with the mag shipped with the rifle. It wouldn't function properly no matter what. Fulton was not very responsive about getting me another, after two calls I gave up and ordered 10 C-Produces mags, all function flawlessly. Overall, I'm very happy with the rifle, if I was to order another I would get the side cocking upper. As far a shooting 2" groups at 400 yds, I would guess this would be the best you could hope for with a properly worked up hand load; is it possible, yes, probable no. |

im not a good shot either , the range officer can put 5 in quarter all day with it. it has just improved more these last few months and rivals the bolt gun guys, even the range owner who is a bolt gun fanatic loves it and asks to shoot it when i bring it out. |

According to Fulton, it is there favorite length in the AR platform. |

I have a fulton Titan 18.5" ss side cocker, beautiful weapon Awesome 2 stage trigger, seems to get more accurate the more rounds you run thru it. It shoots about .75" at 100 yds. My rifle had to go back for accuracy problems when i first got it, it would not do better than 2.5 moa. There customer service was poor and Clint was rude about the whole deal. He didn't seem to believe me about the accuracy problem. I tried tap 168gr like he suggested and about every other premium ammo I could find.
I tried 2 different scopes and mounts that came off my other ar's that were shooting great but nothing seemed to help. They said to send it back and they would check it out right away and call me to tell me what the problem was. One month later it showed up out of the blue, I called them to ask what the problem was and they said they could not find anything wrong with it but rebarelled it. They left a bad taste in my mouth the way they handled it, but they did rebarrel it and it now shoots much better but i did have to pay the freight. |

I have an 18.5 inch FAR-308 and I love it. I have a couple thousand rounds through it. The 2-stage match trigger is fantastic and it is sub-MOA out to 500 yards, which is as far out as I practice. I have zero regrets.
I hunt with it as well. It is also very reliable. I shoot mostly 168gr FGMM and some 175 Bergers and it will shoot as well as a most bolt guns. As far as customer service, I have e-mailed the owner about build ideas and he e-mails me back directly. They were, however, very stand-off-ish when I asked about the mechanics of suppressing it, even after I explained the legitimacy of my purposes. They acted like it was not a lawful venture, which is comical from either an NFA or LE persepective. But they were, none the less, quick to reply about non-NFA querries. My only problem has been that the 6 o'clock rail screws stripped and came loose after a short firing string shortly after I added a new Harris bipod. I replaced the 4 inch rail with a 7-inch (thereby adding an extra mounting hole to the attachment). I have yet to see if it holds up. FWIW, it just so happens on my rifle that a Ballistiplex reticle coupled with 168 FGMM, when zero'd at 100 yards, will shoot POA/POI at 200, 300, and 400 using the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th reticle hashes, respectively. At 500 yards, I have to add 12 inches Kentucky elevation. It makes for quick, coarse shooting without twisting dials. It is a great rifle. Good shooting. JR |
