Hi guys, I am looking for a lab rat to test a magazine for me. I need someone with a 6.8 caliber weapon who does their own reloads with longer ammo. I have been hearing that some poeple prefer the PRI 6.8 magazine because supposedly its longer to allow for the longer ammo but C Products magazines are made out of Stainless Steel which is thinner than aluminum or regular steel so I don't see how this is possible.
Anyone that is interested send me an email and I will send the first 2 people who respond a free magazine to test. Thanks guys, Chad [email protected] |

PRI mags are butt welded not lapped, be nice if you came up with something for all calibers. Which calibers are you looking for? 5.56 and 6.8 are the most long loaded calibers but the .264LBC/Grendel may also benefit from being able to load longer. Don't think there would be a need for a long 7.62x39 |

While we have you attention on mags, are you still working on the twenty five round 308 ? The Scar Heavy magazine is complete, the .308 Bolt magazines are being tweaked right now and will be ready next week, the Beretta 92 kind of took a back seat with everything else going on but should be ready in a couple weeks. The 25rd .308 is the main focus right now with everything else being completed or almost completed. I would expect to have samples in about 2 weeks. If everything goes well they should be ready shortly after that. Chad |

| Maybe the old ones did as some have suggested but I just acquired 3 new 25rders from PRi and the longest I'm getting is 2.3" and really I'm loading to 2.295" because you barely have the clearance for the 2.3" OAL...when Chad's new mag shows up I'll lay them all side by side and we will see an unbiased presentation of the 6.8mm mags on the market. I'm also going to be (hopefully) comparing followers, springs, and floorplates too just to be thorough although the main focus of the evaluation is magazine OAL constraints and feeding. |

Thanks for doing this. Certain bullets require longer loading. For example, the new 95 grain TTSX has to be loaded from 2.280" to 2.305" in order for the bullet to be fully supported, i.e for the case mouth to grip the bullet on the driving band. As you well know, it is not recommended that one align the case mouth with the "gas rings" on Barnes bullets. These gas rings are designed to reduce bearing surface area, not for crimping. A magazine tha disallows the use of certain bullets is not desirable.
As of now, I use only PRI mags because I load almost everything out to 2.295 or 2.30". This gives more powder capacity, less powder compression, and definitely improves my accuracy as the bullet is closer to the lands. If all 6.8 mags would allow 2.30" loads, we could continue the development trend we started 4 years ago. Right now, SSA has to load bullets to 2.240 and in that range. This actually has caused problems with the Speer TNT setting back in the case, because the ogive taper starts right where the bullet meets the case mouth, when loaded so short. So, there is more to it than just accuracy. Hat is off to you, thanks!!

It would be great if someone made a mag that would give a 5 round capacity with .458 SOCOM. We have a 5 round limit for a semi auto in Michigan and my 458 is my brush gun for deer. I've been using C-Products 5 round .223 magazine..I trimmed some coils so now its really a 10 round .223 magazine, but it will single stack 4 rounds of .458 SOCOM. I know its not 5, but for hunting restriction considerations, this is good enough for me. |

tagged. Is this on the 15 or 25rd Cproducts? Pics of "new" mag...? This is currently on the 25rd 6.8's, although the enhanced mag catch with be added to the 17rd as well. To everyone that is waiting for the test mags, they are in production now (adding the enhanced mag catch to the tool slowed things down a bit) and will ship the end of this week. Thanks, Chad |

Guys, anyone that I promised to send test magazines to, can you please email me your address? With all the email problems I have been having I have lost my previous emails. The magazines are ready to ship I just need your info. I am sorry for the delay.

[email protected] Chad Great idea to send out test products, I keep hoping to get in on one of these but I keep missing out, I guess I have to check this forum a little more often. Have you tried looking for feedback on the 6.8 over on 68forums? There are a lot of knowledgeable shooters, reloaders and industry professionals for the 6.8 over there. Some of them post here as well, but many don't. Keep up the good work. |

Chad, Other than the enhanced mag catch, is there anything different about these 6.8 test mags? Are they still lap welded? Thanks No, the enhanced mag catch is the only new addition. They are still lap welded. The other theory that I was trying to disprove is that the feed lips need to be tweaked. Chad |
