I recently purchased a DPMS SASS 308 from a store in Connecticut and had it shipped to a FFL in N. Carolina.  I haven't had a chance to look at it because I'm in Germany right now.  Is my muzzle break going to be weld on?  If so how difficult is it to remove?

I do not live in CT but every dealer that was selling them there when I was looking last year that had them...2 dealers...said they had the welded on brake as that was the only legal way to sell them in CT.

Its definitely permed... likely blind pinned... shouldn't be hard for a smith but break will likely be unusable

thanks, for the reply.  I ordered from Conn. and I didn't even think of the state laws and I already purchased a new break for when I go home on leave.

They must be permantly attached. We are only allowed 2 "evil" features on semi auto rifles, one is the pistol grip, the other is a detachable magazine, so anything else (threaded barrel, flash hider-brakes are ok, bayonet lug) are illegal.
