Got a question for everyone. I built a .308 16" pretty much stock rifle. It chambers fine and after the first shot, nothing. It didn't extract. To be more clear, it didn't even move carrier back. I closed the dust cover to see if it would open the door, and it remained shut. Seems like a gas issue but throwing it out there to see if anyone had the same problem and thier solutions before i tear into this thing..Thanks!!!

Gas block is not aligned with the gas port in the barrel.

Exactly right.  The little hole in the gas tube is pointing up on the gas block instead of down at the hole in the barrel.

Ask me how I know

Will do. Got to go out of town for a funeral, but as soon as I return I will start looking into what is causing this thing to act up. Shoots like a dream, but single shot. Will file AAR upon return..Thanks!!!

Well I got an answer to why it wasn't cycling. I am almost too embarrassed to admit why. Well, upon removal of the FSB, I noticed, well, the gas tube got rotated 180 degrees before I pinned it. So the gas hole was pointing up. On the solid side was a nice black spot where the gas was trying to find its home but couldn't. I guess it goes to show, no matter how meticulous you are at building something, we're all human. Going tomorrow to test fire it AGAIN, this time I am positive it will be successful. Let the ribbing begin, I deserve it :)

Check the other end of the gas tube to see if the "bell" was damaged.

Nope. I inspected the tube for scoring or any damage and it looked great. Thanks for the heads up.
