Hi everyone,
I am looking for a cheaper alternative gas block for my SASS style build. The recommended gas block from DPMS is obviously one of theirs: http://www.dpmsinc.com/store/products/?prod=4816&cat=1768. Unfortunately it runs $110 and that just seems a little stiff compared to some of the other gas block out there. The barrel I have - their 18" SASS - has an OD of .936" at the gas block and an OD of approximately 1.31" just behind the gas block. Anyone know a gas block that can clear that step in the barrel? -TD |

Here's one with the right .936 measurement.
http://www.fulton-armory.com/ Gas Block, Titan, with Two Steel Compression Screws —exclusive Fulton Armory design, compresssion fit so it can't work loose —Choose .750" or .936" .936" 49.95 Looks something like this. http://www.fulton-armory.com/CoverTitan-600_50.jpg Don't forget your gas tube pins as well. |
| I too have run into this problem and haven't found any gas block that had the holes in a position that it could be mounted on the SASS barrel. Not only is the step an issue, but the depth vs. hole location inside the block. I gave up and bought the GB SASS from DPMS. |

I have this on my Krieger/Criterion bbl. .936 20" HB & it works fine. You have to make sure you alien the gas hole to the bbl. gas port. This looks like who makes them is various bbl. dia.. http://egw-guns.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=53&products_id=170 |
