I have a LR-308 that I currently have a Magpul CTR stock on but with optics is does not offer a great cheek weld. I am thinking of changing to a Magpul PRS stock but am unsure of how this affects my extension tube, buffer and spring (currently have a Slash buffer/spring).

What extension, buffer and buffer spring is recommended to use with the PRS stock?

Mike, maybe you should ask this question over at the Industry forum, scroll down to Magpul. better answers there.

Yeah, your'e going from a carbine setup to a rifle setup.  Different tube, spring and buffer.

What he said!   I have PRS on a brand new rifle, It works great for a fully adjustable stock - I'm actually removing it and going to sell it because i need more length of pull.  Let me know if you are interested.

Well I figured I would need to change, but do I just use a standard A2 extension, buffer and spring or is there a special buffer and spring that is recommended? When I was putting my CTR together everyone recommended the slash buffer and modified AR10 spring.

What you will need is AR-10 rifle buffer and Spring. Armalite has those in stock.

You could also try the CTR cheek risers: http://store.magpul.com/prod_detail_list/32

Interesting but says it is not made for AR15/M4 type rifles as it interferes with the operation of the charging handle.

Check with Magpul...  they will tell you that you need a Mil-Spec Rifle Length Tube.

Check with your rifle manufacturer as to which Mil-Spec Rifle Length Tube you can install.

My DPMS SASS .308 has the Mil-Spec AR15 Rifle Length Tube with the Magpul PRS.

Your results may vary.....

In doing more research, I may go with the ACS instead due to the lack of a QD swivel attachment on the PRS plus the hassle of having to change receiver extension, buffer and spring, especially since I have a high dollar Slash buffer and spring that I have never even shot with.

In addition I am having trouble locating a FDE AR10 model PRS in stock.

I always forget about Midway for AR parts. Plus I get a discount at Brownells.

Mike_from_Texas said that he had a LR-308, not an Armalite.

For the LR-308, he can use a standard AR-15 rifle receiver extension tube.  He is better off getting the DPMS buffer 308-BS-11 and spring 308-BS-10B.  If there is a difference in the dimensions or weight of the Armalite BCG and/or buffer, the results won't be good.
