Is there any advantage buying one or the other?  I have the chance to buy a stripped cmmg mk3 lower for $300, or I have the option of a DPMS complete lower half for $400

I found out recently that both CMMG & DPMS are billet . I knew the CMMG I have is billet ,but was not sure how the DPMS was made . The CMMG seems more robust in most places & has a few nice features the DPMS doesn't have ,( finger rests on both sides of the trigger)not really needed ,but nice . I have yet to complete the CMMG ,but every thing assembled almost with out a hitch .The only thing I had a slight problem with was , some debris's were left in the spring hole for the pivot pin detent ,used a small drill bit by hand to auger the shit out .
The DPMS is working great ,had no problem assembling it & matches well with the DPMS upper receiver .I paid more for the CMMG ,than the DPMS,but also bought the DPMS way before the BO surge.
