I put 3 mags to break in my new P-308. it stove piped on each mag. Not to worried cause I was using reloads, but now that you ask, can't remember if the bolt remained open. I will be using this rifle the most so I hope mine is not a dud! But man the POF is a good looking rifle.

Polish the bore...well and do not use 'lipstick' rounds.

Many don't like it being picky about ammo but with match grade .308 its a very reliable tack driver with a 16.5" barrel.

Amazing firepower but you must feed it well.

I feed mine shit ammo....berdan primed 30+ year old German mil-surp and it runs fine, locks back the bolt and is pretty freaking accurate consider the grade of ammo.

JME,
Sean

***EDIT*** I also run a mix of CProducts 20 and DPMS 19 round mags.

I run the same mags and have only had problems with nossler tipped ammo and the original TAP (coated with that black shit). Hornaday has since replaced the black coating on TAP ammo with SS cases (It must have been a little more the my POF that was having issues w/it).

Is that German 'shit' ammo jacketed/solid tipped? Because I think the problem is soft tipped or coated cases on ammo with any semi .308
