In the Sierra Reloading manual they have a seperate section for the AR-15 in 223, instead of a reloads for bolt action. In the 308 section there is no sepperation from AR and bolt action. This being my first 308 I assume that I can use the specs in the reloading manual for 308 in a semi or bolt action.

Use moderate loads of medium burning rate powder and you'll do fine. I use a 168 SMK over 41.5 grains of IMR4895 and WLR primer.

I found great success using 41.5 gr. IMR 4895 under  168 gr Sierra Match king or 168 Nosler HPBT match bullets.  Win primer & brass.
If using Fed brass, drop down 0.5 gr.   42.5 gr of RL 15 works good with above bullets too.
