I have a bolt gun with a 24" barrel that gets me to 1000 yards with 45 grains of Varget and 175 gr. SMKs
this is my first precision autoloader. I know I can't load it anywhere near as hot as I can my bolt gun. How far can I stay supersonic with a 24" barrel with reasonable reloads? How about a 22" or a 20" Thanks |
| I load 43 gr of varget with 178gr A-max and am getting around 2530 out of a 20" barrelled Fulton Armory Titan. This should still be supersonic @ 1000, have personally made hits out to 800 with this load but have run out of scope adjustment to be consistent @ 1000yds. I also have the Tubb CS flatwire buffer spring and the carrier weight system to help with the pressures on shooting the heavier loads,these have helped me get up to 43 gr of varget, but I still start getting pressure signs with 43.5-44gr. |
