Well, today's range session brought sorrow. My rifle suddenly completely failed to extract fired or live rounds. A quick glance in the shade and I could tell the extractor didn't look right. When I got home it was obvious that the entire extractor lip is gone. I think I know the answer but is there any place that has such bits in stock? I'm asking DPMS for a replacement under warranty but they show everything as out of stock. It's going to suck to be out of commission for months waiting for this little piece. I never could find anything in stock when I was parts shopping a while back either. Are other .308 extractors compatible? Never mind. I suck at the Internet sometimes. I've had about 500 rounds down the tube and I know I have heard that this is weak point in the bolt. Is there a history on these parts breaking early? |
