I have a friend with a Hesse Lower. I know there are some issues with these, but he's willing to try and make it work. One issue we're finding right away is that it seems an AR10 magazine doesn't even come close to being right.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks. |

You'll get a better response on the "Variants" forum.
I have a Hesse lower too and determined there were too many mis-drilled holes to make it reliable. It barely takes DPMS mags due to the short length of the mag well. When mated to an Armalite upper, there is a lip that snags the noses of bullets as they rise out of the magazine. That lip isn't present in Hesse uppers, but Hesse uppers have other problems (the biggest being they are soft). I'd recommend your buddy relegate his Hesse to paperweight status. I gave up on the Hesse and bought a couple Fulton OLLs and populated them with Armalite parts. This was before Noveskes and Aeros hit the market. |

No, it's not why. My Aero's are spot on with Armalite parts, and they're not "AR10".

I think he's about at that point...paperweight status, that is. Thanks for the info.

Aero and Noveske make lowers that work with AR10 parts with ArmaLite's blessings so that Californians can use AR10 uppers, etc. Not all .308 ARs are AR10s or will work with AR10 parts, especially a fucking Hesse. |

PRE - obama the 308 platform seemed to hit a plateau of sorts. I wouldn't be surprised if Armalite went "looking" for a way to sell more of the rest of their parts. Either way, a good business move. Of course we all know where we are today.
