Colt AR 9mm Carbines use modified UZI mags. I pretty sure that the modification has to do with the different mag catches between the AR and the UZI. Does anyone know if this modification can be done easily in the home workshop?

I have a American spirit arms conversion, for my uzi mags I used the mag well block pushed the magazine in the well and used a scribe to make the outline for the new notch then used a drill and a dremel to complete the conversion. I bought 3 genuine colt mags at about $ 50.00 a piece, I was paying about $ 7.00 each for surplus uzi mags, and so far my conversions have worked with no issues at all.
