Hello all,  I have a question maybe someone can give advise on.  I have a question regarding a RRA .458 Socom I am adding new attachments on.  I am putting a DD lite rail system on it in place of tube and a buddy of mine was going to remove the tube for me. Well the RRA upper .458 marked reciever has some scratches (OMG! ) that can possibly be refinished, it hurts me to see the scratches on a new gun.

As I am basically putting all new attachments on the gun I am thinking of just buying a STEALTH Billet Upper LT-007 for it now and just send the RRA Upper out later.

Now My question is will the STEALTH Billet Upper LT-007 have any issues?  I see RRA made some modification to the barrel throat on barrel itself but everything else looks untouched.  I will be having a Gunsmith do work or I will buy all tools and do it myself, but I will be obtaining the Larue upper either way.  Just checking to see if there will be any problems with the exchange of uppers.

                                                                            Thanks

The first hurdle for your smith is gonna be getting the RRA tube off.  Apparently they loc-tite the heck out of them, and the folks who have reported on removing them say it was a real bear.

The only other obvious upper situation could be the new ejection port.  I do not know if the Stealth is already opened for larger calibers, but the 458S does require a significantly larger ejection port (over the 556).  If the new upper has an ejection port cover, then you will have a fine balancing act to play, removing metal from the top and bottom, to keep the cover functioning.

Yeah, It looked like blue Loc tite every where when the tube was removed.   I will measure the ejection port and see.  I could not tell much difference in size looking at it with door on it. I assume I can use the ejection port door from the RRA along with everything else.  Thanks
