I just read in a few year old post on another forum that there are only 3 parts in a .308 lower parts kit that are different than the AR15 LPK.  They were listed as the pivot and takedown pins and the bolt catch screw.  Is this correct?  I ask as I am in need of a LR308 LPK and already have a couple for AR15's.  I'm getting a bit concerned as I watch them sell for over $200 on GB.  If the above statement is correct, any reason I can't locate just the necessary parts and have the AR15 LPK work just fine with the three repalcement parts....in my LR308 lower.  Thanks...

You are semi-correct on all accounts. Get the four parts and a regular LPK and you are GTG. The fourth part being a different bolt stop. The older kits had a regular ar15 bolt stop so they should still work.

These are new Ar15 LPK's.  Do I still need that 4th part...bolt stop or am I gtg with what I already have with the originally listed 3 different parts?  Thanks for your input and patience with these questions.  I may try to locate a part by part comparison chart to assist me.  Thanks.

I don't think you really "NEED" the bolt stop BUT - I don't see why DPMS would have went through the trouble of engineering/making/listing a new part if it wasn't at least a little improvement over the existing part. And being held by a set screw, it should be easy to swap out if/when you get the 308 specific bolt catch.
YMMV
