I read this in a post by Frank from POF:

HERE'S A PICTURE OF OUR NEW BILLET MACHINED LOWER FOR OUR .308 CAL. GAS PISTON WEAPON SYSTEMS. THE LOWER USES AR-15 LOWER PARTS KIT. THE FRONT PIN IS LONGER AND IS THE ONLY PART OF THE AR-15 LOWER PARTS KIT THAT WON'T WORK WITH OUR LOWER.

IMAGINE OPERATING YOUR WEAPON SYSTEM WITH YOUR TRIGGER FINGER. PULL THE TRIGGER, RELEASE THE MAGAZINE, AND NOW RELEASE THE BOLT WITH YOUR TRIGGER FINGER.

LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.
BEST REGARDS,

I was planning on just buying a AR15 lower parts kit with the Timney trigger, but where do I get the front pin he is referring to.

Any info is appreciated.

I searched but only have the ability to go back 30 days so I was unable to find the info.

Thanks

I was under the assumption that when you buy the lower it comes with the front pin as well as the ambi bolt release parts. You also need the sleeve to go with the front pin if you're going to use any upper other than a POF. That part, I could find only from Cold War Shooters.

I just bought one saturday.  It came with the front pin and ambi bar.

I'm not familiar with the sleeve that the other poster is referring to.  It appears to be a very high quality lower.  I need to figure out what to build with it.  I'm leaning toward a 260.

It's a thin sleeve or bushing that goes in the pivot pin hole to offset it when using any upper besides POF's. The only uppers that are a true "bolt up" are POF uppers themselves, which I don't believe are available for sale by themselves. When using a Fulton or DPMS upper you must use the sleeve. I believe the reason for the sleeve is because the hole in a DPMS or Fulton upper is larger than a POF. So I guess if you didn't use the sleeve, there would be a lot of slop.

This isn't my actual experience, only what I've read, as I was planning to build one of these.

Thanks for the answer guys. I am going to be using a POF upper. I ordered two uppers. I was afraid to order whole rifles in case a ban is enacted before I receive them. At least if I have the lowers and a ban comes maybe my uppers will get produced faster.

Sucks we have to worry about this. I'm trying to cover all the stuff I want. I'm glad I don't have kids or they would have a sad Christmas LOL.

So POF is actually selling 308 uppers separately now? That's good to know.

Yeah you can order them directly from the website. But they are quoting 20 weeks and I've heard it is taken at least 32 or more on average.

TDH,
Are they selling upper recievers, or entire uppers?  I wouldn't mind just finding a POF upper reciever.

I need to find an upper for mine, to build a .260 Rem.  Anyone have any recommendations for an upper?  I'd like it to be light, so I was leaning toward a DPMS lightweight.

Sorry TDH, don't mean to hijack, but the right folks might be following your thread.

Complete uppers as far as I know. They are offering 308 uppers and 5.56 uppers. Rumored to be offering 6.8 after the first.
