Is it just me, or is it really hard to find a complete 6.8 BCG? If someone else has found a supply I would appreciate the help. Trying to finish this build before deer season opens |

Hit the Equipment Exchange and call the major vendors like Denny's GTS, JTAC Supply, ADCO, Legal Transfers, even manufacturers like Stag and LMT. Also you may contact AR15Performance.com. They deal in custom 6.8 uppers and may be able to steer you towards a bolt carrier assembly. There has to be one out there for you. Unfortunately unless someone reading your post knows where to find one, you may have to do some phone work. |
| I fired off several emails last night and did get replies. I have been able to find the LMT enhanced bolts, however, I find it hard to justify the cost......unless there is something I am missing. Also looked at Cardinal, but it showed out of stock online. I should have ordered the dang thing when I bought the barrel from Tim. I guess I will continue to troll the EE and wait for replies from other vendors. Thanks Guys |

Did you contact LMT and Stag/CMT direct? Many feel these two brands make the best 6.8 bolt carrier assemblies. They sell direct on their websites, but I'd call if they show out of stock. If your emails go unanswered for a while, pick up the phone and call them. I called a vendor not too long ago for a handguard I wanted. Their website showed out of stock. I called them and found out they had a shipment coming in and I got in on that shipment. |
I went to the LMT enhanced bolt this year, and I have found it to work really well in my rifle. I have one of the slightly tight CA barrels, but I absolutely love mine. Since I know it is not going to be the lowest pressure environment (as would be expected with 11 twist, SPC II and 4 grooves) with the thick chrome, I am looking for every edge I can get, in order to shoot very hot, fast loads. I found that with CSS springs, YNM carrier, LMT enhanced bolt and an H2 buffer, the rifle cycles perfectly and throws the brass much closer to 3 O'clock than it did before I made the upgrades. I know the LMT enhanced bolt is expensive, but it gives me more confidence with the lobster claw extractor that my bolt will not fail, even with a Barnes TTSX loaded with 29.5 grains of RE10X. That is one giant of a load but it works perfectly every time in my gun. Stout loads mean you want a stout bolt. I would buy the LMT enhanced again if I were to need another bolt for another build. |
