I woke up this morning and saw a .50AE casing, and I wondered to myself, 'hmm does anyone chamber this thing in an AR platform?' so here I am asking that same question...and looking at COL's I'd have to wonder about .500S&W as well.

Sure. IM me with Qs. I am running the 350g Sierras @ 1730fps out of a 16" tube. The bolt is easy enough but the extractor is no fun. The 500S&W has too much pressure & the rim kills it.

Tony Rumore from Tromix used to make a 50AE upper/rifle. Was kick ass. I wish I had not sold mine, would like to get another one eventually. you still them pop up for salf on the E.E. or gunbroker from time to time.

Would be interesting to see a gas-piston pistol build for like .44 magnum or .50ae, hi-cap with optics. :]

agreed.  If there was an AR that shot 50ae with 30 round mags, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

considering the 50AE was single stack in the AR mags like the 50 Beowulf round, a 30 round make is gonna be long...........wonder if a Beta C mag could be modified to work.......

A Beta C won't work, but an MWG 90 rnd drum will hold 32rnds of 50 AE...or something like that. You need a spacer in the front, all the way around. I tried it with 458 just to get a rnd count.
