I am not happy with my RRA NM 2 stage trigger in my custom GAP DPMS rifle. The second stage is too heavy, takes too much finger for me to break it, I end up mashing it. I am interested in a Geisele, however, I dont know which one to order. http://www.geissele.com/ The MATCH trigger is : First Stage: 1.3 – 3 pounds (2 pound nominal) Second Stage: 4 to 14 ounces and the DMR is : First Stage: 1.3 - 3 pounds (2 pounds nominal) Second Stage: 0.5 to 1.5 pounds I want to be able to feel it when it gets to the second stage. I usually take up my first stage slack, and then when I get to the second stage stopping point, breath, and press. Is the Match trigger too light to feel when you get to the second stage, will the trigger rest there, or will it almost feel like a single stage? I want a light second stage, but not too light that I cant feel it. Any thoughts or experience with lighter triggers? |
rainier arms-you should get all 3 spring packs to make it whatever you want. The match is too light unless its strictly a bench gun. |

I buy the service rifle trigger, and get the extra trigger weight springs (an email to Geissele will cover it, some retailers on here offer it as standard) and I can adjust first and second stage for the full range. Everyone that's shot my guns with Geissele triggers (quite a lot of folks), seem to prefer the DMR set up, as the Match 1st stage spring is VERY light, and the second stage, unless adjusted just so, is too light for most to feel. I personally find the Match first stage with a DMR second stage to be perfect for bench shooting, but a pure DMR works best for me for field/competative action shooting. Tom PS, changing out the first stage trigger spring is no different or mor edifficult than any other trigger. |
Depends on your definition of "non bench apps". The match Geissele works fine in the spacegun that I use in highpower competition -- and that rifle is being used for rapid fire strings. The trigger is distinctly lighter than the servide rifle version and if you've been using a 4.5+ pound SR trigger, you'll definitely trip the match version a few times by accident before you get the hang of it. |
