Just bought a DPMS lr-308. Need to scope it, thanking about the ACOG. Any one use one and if so what are your likes and dislikes. Also looking at 2.5x10 acupoint. Do you have any sugestions don't want to spend more than 750.00 |

I actually have exaclty a TA-33-8 ACOG on my .308. The -8 is the 5.56 reticle, but thats what I had. Not sure exactly how different the -9 (.308) reticle is. I have not shot the ACOG at anything further than 100yrd -- need a bigger range to shoot at. My ballistic calculations show the reticle close enough. Its very fast and light weight with some magnification. I didnt like the EOTech on the .308 for some reason. It works very well for me. I also have a 2x10 IOR scope in a Larue mount, that I was using. Of course it depends on how you are going to shoot it. I have a med weight 18" barrel, and a lighter stock and stuff. The whole thing is 9 lbs 6oz now. (8lbs 12oz with out optics) Newer setup: light stock and ACOG (9lbs 6oz)  Old pic: heavy scope and stock (12.8 lbs)  TJ |
