Do different mags produce different accuray in the AR platform?? I seemed to have that issue today (at least that is how I can narrow it down}

Tell us about your shooting setup. You're not using the magazine as a monopod, are you?

The rifle-DPMS LR-TAC20, JP adjustable gas block, Chip McCormick trigger. Badger tactical latch, Ergo grip

The optic- Springfield armory 4-14x56

The load--Hornady 165gr boat tail soft point, WLR primers, WW cases, 44.5gr of Varget

The results- first 6 groups of 3 rounds @ 50 yards- two holes touching, the third strung out vertically almost 2 inches ( this shot wasn't always the first or always the last--it was evenly distributed as 1st, 2nd. 3rd)

the next 4 groups (of 3 rounds) using a different magazine were all under an inch

both mags are DPMS and function well

The magazine is just a storage device for ammo. Unless you are using it to support the rifle, it won't affect accuracy. If you have any doubts, remove the mag after you chamber each round.

TAC20 at the range this afternoon, 5 round group through steel plate 100 yards cover it all with a 50 cent piece.

Never a problem with the mags or the rifle. Best buy that I have made in years.

vertical string is improper/inconsistent load, shoot at least five round groups. start low with your charges. first your group will pattern, vert string, then group tight. stop there. match bullets will help as well, and trickling onto a scale.
