what ammo should i use to break in the barrel on my DPMS 308?? is it OK to use the surplus hirtenberger (austrian) crap i just bought, or should i use my duty ammo?? the rifle will probably shoot cheap stuff for the rest of it's life, so should i bother with the match ammo for break-in?? thanks--john |

the hirt's NOT crap?? cool, i was a little concerned about it because of the price ($90/200rds). the owner of the local gun/pawn said he thought it was junk, but it looked good to me, so i went with my gut and bought a couple battle packs. so, i should use the match for break in. any specific reason?? sorry if this is a dumb question. i always use match ammo to break in rifles that will only use match ammo, but this rifle will pretty much be used for plinking and such. thanks for the info--john |
