Read all 7 pages of posts on this board and didnt see a single post about complete DPMS 6.8mm AR's. I have 2 Bushys (M4gery and Predator) and a Stag (4L) in 5.56mm but have never been drawn to a DPMS. Overall how do they rate in comparison to the others (RRA. BM, Stag) I am looking for opinions on this weapon in 16". My thoughts have always been that they (DPMS) were not as well built. I have no idea where I got the notion but.....

| I bought a DPMS rifle in the 6.8 cal last year. This a good and accurate rifle. So far I have shot two deer at 150 to 200 yds with this rifle. Both were one shot kills.I also handloaded some 110 grains barnes bullets with H322. At 100 yds my shot groups are touching . My only gripe with the rifle is , I wish it came with a chrome bore and chamber. So far I have shot over two hundred rounds thru this rifle. I only had one problem with a stuck round in the chamber. The store bought ammo was SSA barnes. After removing the round and checking it with calibers. The SSA case itself was at fault being way out of specs for cartridge overall length.I also found that it is cheaper to reload the 6.8 round. Also the military at one time was buying parts and uppers from DPMS for the M - 16. |
