I think the 458 SOCOM bolt fits into a standard AR15 bolt carrier. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this. My real question, however, is what do they use for a barrel extension? Is it a standard AR15, an AR10, or some custom piece in between? Thank you for your big-bore wisdom. CO |

| The .458 SOCOM uses a modified 5.56 mm bolt. The boltface is opened up a little, to fit the .458s larger rim diameter. It works just fine with a regular, bone stock bolt carrier. The barrel extension on my .458 upper is a standard AR15 extension, with a reshaped feedramp in the 6:00 position. |
