I have a DPMS LR308 AP4 and was wanting to change out the forend. Does anyone know if the SR25 forends from Larue will fit? It would appear they are primarily interested in the Armalite market. I posted in their industry forum and sent an email with no response.

What other forends have people used on their AP4's?

One last question, is the rail height correct for use of AR15 BUIS (Troy or Samson)?

many more companies are making railed tubes for the dpms. troy and dd have one now. if you have the ap4, the rail height is not the problem its the fsb. you may need a taller fsp.

I was thinking of getting rid of the FSB and using the Troy buis. I wanted to use a rifle length forend over the gas block.

So does anyone know if the DPMS uses the SR25 barrel nut?

Can't help with the forearm but the Troy BUIS works with the DPMS railed gas block. I have the front BUIS by Troy and have the sight post all the way down. Lucky for me that's were it needs to be.

i think every manufacturer of a .308 ar has a diff barrel nut, but not positive.

I'm looking to do the same thing with my AP4, I plan to use a JP rifle or other low-profile non-railed gas block w/o a front sight and use a standard rifle length railed hanguard that will fit over the gas block. But I'm not sure which railed handguard I will use. Waiting to hear which companies make one that will work with the .308 AP4 lower rail height.
