[ARCHIVED THREAD] - DPMS LR 308 ?

Does anybody know if I take a DPMS LR 308 24" S/S and cut it down to 18" & recrown if i will have any problems with the gas system or any other problems
I really like the 18" DPMS but i want S/S and i can't get it in S/S

Should have no problem, I run a 18.5" on a rifle gas system.

what kind of velocity are you getting out of your 18.5" if you know or anybody else that has a 18" or so barrel
