Really nice "Stick"!

How about a run down on the mechanicals / details?

How far are you shooting this with the Irons? I wish I could still go "Long Range" with the Irons, but "getting old" has really made me "scope dependent".

Good Luck, make sure you also give us a range report and some pics of your groups.

Thanks,
"Capt Richardson"

parts list in build it yourself.  with a scope it shoots 1" at 200yds, 2.5" at 300, and about 5" at 400.  with irons keeps em in the 10 and x at 200 and 300, when i can.  ill post some targets in the spring, just moved and threw everything out.  i shoot 180gr matchkings with varget.  the tubbs meplate uniformer helps a great deal also.

Sounds good,

Do you know if anyone makes a "bobsled" follower for a .308 magazine like they do for the .223?

Are you just using a standard DPMS .308 mag to single load your 180s, or did you modify a mag?

So far I have only shot 168, 173, and 175, and so far the Federal Gold Medal 168 seems to be the best. I wish I had the time to try and work up some handloads, but I do well just to find time to get to the range, as such it is off the shelf ammo for now.

Happy Holidays and Shooting, make sure you keep us in the loop,
"Capt Richardson"

PS: if you need a "Match" Rear Sight, let me know. I have a RPA Trakker with a Gehmann Iris that is sitting around collecting dust.

i use the bobsled delrin block for single load, and the dpms steel 10 rounders for rapid fire.  my original plan was to use a jp rear sight.  i think they quit making them.  ill probably just use another front sight without a spacer for 600 yds.  i just moved and the nearest full course range is hundreds of miles away.  im good for now limited to 300 yds.  thanks.  i tried 168gr, 175, 180, and 190.  175 was a close second to the 180.   factory ammo may have too much powder for best grouping.   mine grouped best well below max.  i also do testing at 200 and 300, never at 100.  lead sled helps too.
