Ordered a Leupold 39-X50 with Mark4 high rings.  Got the scope and rings today. The rings sent are 30mm [damn!] so they gotta go back.  More waste of time.......and with the Mark4 high rings the front bell of the scope won't clear the handguards on the Beowulf; like they told me they would......
anyway -

Do me a favor and Plleeezzzeee tell me what rings you are using on yours?

I'm using a GG&G Scout rail on mine.  I'm also using a 2.5X Simmons shotgun scope.  I would be concerned about having enough eye relief using a 3-9X scope, especially if you mount it directly to the reciever using only a high set of rings.  If the scope is too close to your eye it will whack you hard!

I mounted another rail to the top of my 'wulf that added about 3/4" of height and used medium height Leupold rings, but I'm using a 1.5-5X scope, so eye relief isn't a real issue. With the 3-9X, you may end up getting smacked in the eye.

Leupold says that eye relief shouldn't be a problem. They also say eye relief for this scope should be around 4" to 5" which should be fine.  Has anyone experienced eye relief problems shooting a Leupold setup?

Also, went to the Leu Mark 4 'Super High' rings.  They are not here yet but are on the way......I'll let ya know what happens. If these rings don't work I'll have to go with a sapcer and lower rings like you did......

You might check out Armalite's scope mount -

You may not be able to get the scope mounted far enough forward with an Armalite mount, and almost certianly not with just rings.  I had an Armalite mount on mine and I couldn't get nearly enough eye relief.  I added a buttstock extension, but it made the rifle feel awkward and it still didn't allow enough eye relief.  Here is a pic of mine with the Armalite mount:

So what type of mount/ring combination do you use?

I currently have a GG&G Scout rail with rings of unknown mfg.  This setup puts the scope forward far enough that I could use an A1 length stock, however I discovered that the A1 stock put my nose too close to the charging handle so I went to an A2 stock with an A1 buttplate. (the sharp edges on the A2 buttplate tended to chew on my shoulder.

Finally - Here's the setup. Leupold 3-9X50 with Mark 4 super high rings.  Plenty of eye relief.  Just went through 40 rounds from the bench with no problems whatsoever and man - the Wulf is a real tack driver!!!!  It appears to be a good setup.  I"ll tell what not to buy - The Stoney Point Target knobs. Sheeez. When ya put em on they don't adjust and when ya remove the spacer, like the instructions tell ya to do, they are so loose they just rattle round.  That was a waste of 52 bucks........I sent 'em one email and got a feeble response like - "did ya have to adjust the scope a lot". What does that matter if the friggin' knobs ain't workin'.....Anyway, gave 'em the benefit of the doubt and tried 'em again today.  Zeroed the scope first and then added the knobs.  Same results - waste of time and $$........

I'm with ya on that... I bought the damn things for a M40A3 bolt gun's Leupold scope and got the same results.
The sumbitches are worthless....
