Took the 'wulf out Sunday and put about 90 rounds through it. About 1 in 7 would fail to extract. D Dropping the mag and clearing the subsequent double feed and reseating the bolt would then allow the case to extract. The gun was whistle clean before starting the range session. The load I'm using is 335 Ranier hollow points on top of 37.2 L'il Gun, CCI Large Pistol (non-magnum) primer for an overall length 2.110". I also use a Wolff +10 recoil spring, MGI rate reducer and standard AA bolt and bolt carrier. I examined the extractor under 10x magnification and on a shadowgraph and didn't find any damage to it and the brass doesn't show any signs of over-pressure or rim damage. Anyone have this problem before or have suggestions to troubleshoot? |

Check to make sure you have full travel with one shot....... The bolt should hold open after one shot with mag inserted. If it doesn't, try a standard recoil spring or lighter buffer. If it does hold open everytime, try a heavier buffer to see if you can slow that cycling down more, or try and add a D-Fender ring to the extractor spring for increased grip from the extractor. |
| I found a similar issue with Lil Gun in the .458 SOCOM, all other loads cycle fine but the Lil Gun is not providing enough steam (yet). The pressure profile of Lil Gun is different and will cause some head aches. Try upping your load, as the load from AA should be the "tested and tried and recommended" value. |

I had an issue with my wulf with extraction, after many helpful but unsuccessful ideas from this board, Bill Alexander chimed in and told me to send the gun back to him for inspection and repair. Ended up being a bad extractor. Might have nothing to do with your problem but examine the spent brass, if there are little "bite" marks on the edge of the brass you may be having a similar problem. If so contact Bill Alexander at the number listed on his website, he was very helpful and I have never had better customer service (and he is really fun to talk to, you will learn a LOT about Beowulf and guns in general after a talk with him :) Hope I helped, (your milage may vary) RGUARD |
| I had a few problems with mine at first. I polished the chamber by using a shotgun mop (12ga) on a cleaning rod with some Flitz on it and spun the shit out of it with a drill. Cleaned it up and installed a Wolff XP extractor spring and haven't had any extraction trouble since. |
![]() Maybe he is on a trip and not by the phone. Or maybe his wife had a baby.... You know, maybe something in real life has him tied up. From all accounts, except yours, Bill is a very responsive manufacturer. He isn't a big shop so give him a break. Damn.

I agree with you Shivan. When I emailed him, he happened to be there in the office and called me back on his dime and talked to me for nearly an hour. be cool, send him an email or something and just ask him to let you know when he's back in and you'll call him. Trust me the guy is great to talk to and you'll learn a lot abut your 'wulf from him. w50g |
I have called and talked with him personally in the past...........He always answered any questions that I have had |

I would reference anyone following this thread to the one concerning changing a Beowulf to a SOCOM and also to the thread on brass cracking. Alexander Arms tries to answer all inquiries in a timely manner and to provide the best information we can. However we are only human and occasionally we do miss someone so please help us out and if you think we have forgotten about you either send an e-mail or pick up the phone. If I can escape from the manufacturing and testing I would prefer to be talking to you folks rather than putting the gas ports in 250 barrels or something equally mind numbing. Bill Alexander |

Found out the problem. My extractor "rolled" out, causing it to weakly grab or not grab at all, the round. I spoke with Bill Alexander about it and I gotta say, you can't get better service than what I got. He is sending me a new extractor, at no cost to me. I tried to pay for it, as I consider the problem normal wear and tear, but he wouldn't have it. Everyone who's been bitching about poor service needs to relax. The man spoke with me for 20 minutes and he had a "shop full of people"! Customer service like that is damned hard to come by. |
