Tell us what rings you used with the SuperSniper, please...?

Badge Ord #306-21

I'll warn you, I like a really low scope. Most people who shoot my rifles have trouble with too tight of a check weld.

This gives about an 1/8" clearance between the rail and the scope.

Tell me about your Super Sniper.  I just got a 10x42.  The elevation turret is extremely hard to turn.  Is that something that will work out or do I need to send it back for repair/trade?  I mean I have to grab it with a full hand and really grip hard to turn it.  Certainly not condusive to adjustments while shooting.  I have it on my .308 10FP and am considering one for both my 10A4 and 10T carbine.

Yes I have the same problem, very tight adjustments turrets, they did loosen up some. I was thinking about pulling off the turrets and putting a dap(sp?) of silicon grease on the O rings, that might help. I haven't worried to much about, since I was thinking about going to a variable power scope. I bought the Super Sniper on a gamble, wasn't sure I would like it or the rifle. I like the rifle a whole lot, I think I would like it a lot more with a variable power scope.

The Super Sniper on the rifle is a 10X42 with side focus, for the money it is actually a very decent scope. It's not as nice as a Nightforce or Mk4, but really really good for the price. It tracks good and it returns to zero after making large changes in elevation.

-Armalite Factory AR-10:  20" lightweight barrel, Armalite's carbon fiber free float rail (all green furniture)

-Smith Vortex flash hider

-Trijicon TA11 w/ TA51 mount

-Tango Down Battle Grip

-Magpul Enhanced Trigger Guard

-Harris bi-pods

Enjoy:

The gun had some "teething problems" when I bought it new (would fail to feed, fail to extract, or fail to eject every other round)...Sent it back to Armalite and they reworked the gun and all the mags, now I can't get it to jam, even with mil-surp ammo.

The paint job is a combo of Brownell's Aluma-Hyde II Coyote and OD using a sniper's viel for the pattern.

It's hard to get any guage accuracy with a 3.5x optic, thus I haven't measured groups....But with Port mil-surp ammo, I'm getting a group that I can just about cover with a quarter at 50 yards.  With a higher powered optic / finer reticle I could get much better accuracy out of the gun.

It certainly does. I would definately buy another DPMS. Excellent quality, no issues and you can phone these guys and get their expert help quickly when you want it.

I have been shooting inexpensive SA .308 ammo, 23 bucks for 140 rnds and its been very acurate up to 800yrs which is the furhtest I have had a chance to shoot at.

I have an ace stock on it now and a RRA two stage trigger.

The scope came with the rifle, a Millette 4x16x56 gold series..awesome clarity.

This is a factory assembled Eagle Arms rifle. I took it out to the range for the first time last week and man am I in love. I didn't shoot for any groups but with South African mil-surp I could make hits on aluminum cans at 105 yds every shot. I plan on adding a CMC single stage trigger, some better glass and mounts, and free float the barrel. She should do 1moa all day before I'm done with her. The deer will be in trouble this fall.

Just put a Super Sniper on my AR10A4 with SS barrel:

Haven't had it at the range yet in this setup, but expectations are high.  I shot ragged holes (several shots touching) with my bolt Savages with this scope.

I have never actually gotten to shoot off that, but I use it for my laser boresighter on the fence across the road.  It would make a good bench.

The various levels on the top match up great for using with a bipod and resting the grip on one of the higher levels.  It also works great for my Savage bolt actions with Choate Ultimate Sniper stocks.

Thanks bjwar10.  Full power ammo sounds like a hot .22LR.  No boom, just the sonic crack of the bullet.  With subsonic, it's hollywood quiet.  No action noise, just a hiss and a thud as the bullet hits whatever you're shooting at

Just checked out my new issue of American Rifleman, with a test of the ArmaLite AR10 .300 RSAUM...
WHO'S got one of THOSE?
I was thinking of trading my 2003 SEBR for a Bushmaster .308, but NOW, I don't think so!
Buying the UPPER for that rifle would be a great idea.

Buying just the .300 RSAUM upper with an already existing AR-10 lower is the way to go.  I had quite a bit of $ into my lower and didn't want to replicate all of that $ again.  I just bought the upper and made a suitcase SPR combo that works wonderfully.

Edited 'cause I'm rusty at posting...
