I will have to make this somewhat brief because I have to act like I went to 5 o'clock Mass when I meet the rest of the family.....

First thing....recoil feels like an AR-15. I own a Garand, '03 Springfield, HK91, 3 FAL's and an M-14 but the BAR-10 is now the leader of the big caliber rifles. It fired like a champ and my shoulder wasn't sore after 20 mags. After firing the hell out of my BAR-10, I decided to fire another rifle I picked up this week, a CMP 1903 made by Rock Island Arsenal. Now that thing beat the hell out of my shoulder after 5 rounds he

I have to go but will be back later this evening with a review of the AR-180B that I also picked up this week.

Thanks,
Ron

The only problem I had with the rifle was the feeding from the magazine. I probably have 40 FN mags and only a few of them worked flawlessly. I tried to explain to my son that the mags are SURPLUS... meaning that they probably malfunctioned for them so they sold them off. God only knows how old the mags and springs are. I have never purchased a brand new FN mag because I am so cheap but might have to spring for one. If not a new mag then at least some new springs

Absolutely look forward to a continuing update of this "process".

YIKES. you must be related to one of my Doc shooting buddies. He loves "bargins" I tried to talk him out of the "bargin" M1A mags at the last gunshow we attended. "Buy USGI", says I. "These look great, and they are only $19!" sez he. Then he bitches when the good looking "bargin" mags don't feed reliably. Nooo shiit, Doc!  This is far from the first time he has done stupid shit like this, and won't be the last, I fear. Damn, they must give MDs to anybody

Buy some new FAL mags, unless you enjoy self-abuse.

One thing that I forgot to mention was the noise. I didn't notice it but my son said that the BAR-10 was "friggn' loud". I couldn't  really tell a difference but I remember people asking in the forum about the gun being loud because of the muzzle brake.

The rifle dialed right in after 5 rounds with the factory sights. My  BAR is the one that looks like the AR-15A2 (carry handle and 20" barrel). I shot both Port and Aussie ammo through it with no problems (beside magazine issues). I did prefer the Aussie over the Port though. I liked it so much I went back to the gun show on Sunday afternoon and picked up 3 cases of the Aussie.

I will definitely pick up some new FN mags for the rifle.  I can't remember where I got all my surplus mags but I think I will buy some new springs for them as well. The only surplus mags that I have ever bought cheap and found to be as good as new are the aluminum mags for the G3 that I got from Military Gun Supply. Those mags were new and they only cost me $1.86 each. Now if I can only get one of those .308 AR's that used the G3 mags hanks,Ron

I have a DSA fal with a brake, and used to have an AR10 carbine. The AR10's brake was brutal to anyone standing adjacent to me on the firing line. The shooter doesn't really notice it as much, and the brake IS very effective in reducing muzzle climb. The DSA is also nasty, but not as bad. I would probably want to experience someone else besides me shooting the Bushie firsthand before I bought one. I would rather have a plain barrel over a brake. Well, actually I would prefer an M1A profile barrel with a flash suppressor
