Does anyone have any experience with a Surefire Warcomp in the neutral timed position vs the default position (ports on top and the right)?
I have an upper ready to be put together with the warcomp muzzle device but am unsure about the timing. It will be permanently attached by ADCO if that makes a difference. |

I switched from biased to neutral after experiencing POA shift between shots off a bipod on concrete with a rear squeeze bag with my not light 16” recce. It solved the issue and keeps the front planted. I left it biased on my 10.5” SBR.
It just depends what your predominant usage will be. If your hand is usually going to be on the forend regardless of position and you prioritize rapid fire offhand, biased is a safe bet. More of a mixed use with support hand under the butt is probably better off neutral. Note that they did just release the neutrally clocked birdcage style closed tine Warcomp which is also a SOCOM mount. It's available on the website. It won't kill flash as well as the 3 prong style but still better than an A2. Neutral clocking of the three prong WC is endorsed by Surefire as a functional option, btw. Take note that the low-right ports are drilled level to the deck so a true neutral orientation will actually put the center of the gap between the port clusters a hair clockwise from TDC from the shooter's perspective, which also means you'll minimize clocking a tine gap toward the dirt by that little bit extra. |
