Hey all,

I am building a 20" rifle that I will be using for long distance (500 yds out to 700) hopefully. Anyways, I have been researching compensators and have stumbled onto a few that have struck my interest. My biggest worry with a compensator is blow back. I am aware that all of them will have blow back if they are performing appropriately. My question is this:

Has anybody used either a VDI Jet Comp, AR Stoner competition Brake, or Precision Armament M4-72?

If so, have u had any experience shooting these from a prone position?

Finally, what was your experience?

I apologize if this question has been answered but I have searched and can't find the info I am looking for.

Thank you all

I generally don't hear how loud muzzle brakes are until I'm off to the side watching someone shoot or shooting under something.

I have an SJC Titan in Titanium. It doesn't sound much different to my ear than an Flash Hider behind the gun.

Thanks but I'm not worried about the sound. I'm aware that it will be loud and obnoxious for those around me. My concern is shooting prone. Will the comp create a massive dust cloud obscuring my view?

I have a Lantac Dragon. Shooting prone is no issue for me. Unless I turn to the side I can can see dirt kicking up, from the port blast. I have the Lantac blast diverter for cases like that

Just fired my M4-72 for the first time today.  Firing in the prone on dirt and small rocks.  Zero noticeable kick up.  I'm not sure that I noticed a huge improvement in recoil reduction over my J Comp V2 but watching others shooting it from the standing position, the muzzle really doesn't move.  I'm sure this would be miserable to shoot indoors and probably pretty bright in low/no light.
