Someone help me out here...for a buffer tube, spring, and carbine buffer as long as it's 7075 and mil spec diameter is there really any reason to pay $60-$80 for a Spike's or BCM?  On something like this, am I just paying $30-$50 for a name?

Am I good to go with PSA, Anderson, DSG, etc.

I have used PSA, Damage, Spikes, Vltor, BCM and Aero.  The only real noticeable difference for me is the inside and outside coating/ finish.  The best machined and coating/ finish was the Vltor.

For me Damage industries is the best bang for buck, I even use them on my high end builds.

I'll check the Damage industries one out.  Is there one of our industry sponsors that carries them?

Edit: checked the Damage Ind. site and looks like they are out of stock right now.  $45

I will do ya one better.  $23 from DeltaTeamTactical.  I have never ordered one myself as in the past I usually got the whole kit from PSA but plan on picking one up within the next week myself.  I haven't found anything negative about them on the forums and you can't beat the price.  There are 200 reviews on the page alone

I estimated shipping for me at $7.99 so total would be $31 to my door for just 1.  Shipping looks like it stays the same price even if ya order a couple-few so any additional ones would be just $23.  I think I may get 2 myself to try out since I am already going to be paying shipping.

And to your question, from my experience, and everything I have read no there isn't a real difference as long as it is Mil-Spec 7075 buffer tube.  The only difference most will have is how well they are finished and what type of finish they do have.  There really isn't a whole lot that can be wrong as long as they use the right material and it screws on and works fine.  Perhaps the springs may not be quite as good as a higher dollar one but I imagine they are probably the same.  None the less a new spring is under $5.  An old DPMS rifle I sold came with a 6061 buffer tube commercial size and I never had any issues with it either, doubt many people ever would.

Do a forum search here on DTT BEFORE you consider ordering  any of their shit parts. All I'm saying on that.

I use Spikes, Colt, and DPMS. With Colt being the worst finish wise, but all 7075. Guess I have Aero too.

Shop Gunpartscorp, good prices or the EE. A member currently is selling Stag Arms kits, however I do not know much about them.

I'd wait a week or two to see if you can pickup a PSA Premium Forged 7075-T6 kit.  They are uniformly excellent.  They do have a Premium "Classic" Lower Build Kit with the included Forged 7075-tube on sale with free-shipping this week for $90.00 if you want to go that route (SKU# 29040).  Good luck.

This has been my plan for a while!  The premium buffer tube assembly has been out of stock for what seems like 3+ months.  I'll just keep checking and hope I get a "back in stock" email from them soon.  I just want to finish my SBR build, dang it!

They don't make "kits" the way I like them, so I just do my own. I keep it as cheap (yet quality) as possible as well.
Here's my "go to" for stock kits:

Anderson RE (beautiful and 7075-T6) less than $18
Anderson end plate $4, Anderson castle nut $5. Total $9
Damage Industries CS spring (often go on sale) $6
DelTon H buffer $16
MFT Minimalist stock $40

It's surely more expensive than a "kit", but far cheaper than buying a kit, then buying the parts I want to replace anyway (and having useless spare parts that I'll never use).
Unless you want to keep it strictly "basic", I'd opt for sourcing out the parts separately (or you'll wind up buying a basic "kit" and then the upgrade parts you want on top of that anyway).
