I got a wild hair to try to build a little more accurate Ar for hog hunting so I bought a complete upper with a .223 wyld 18" spiral fluted stainless steel barrel 1/8 twist based on some research I had done. Long story short after multiple scopes, bcgs, and tons of different rounds the most accurate it has been was 2-3in at 50yds. At 100 that gun is a wounding hazard wouldn't even call them groups. Has anyone had this problem?

Can you tell us the barrel and upper manufacturer, and what type of ammo you were shooting?

How were you shooting it?

Did you mount the scope or did a gun smith? If you mounted it, are you sure you mounted it correctly?

In the past, have you been able to shoot better groups with a different rifle? It may be the shooter.

Have you tried any heavier rounds? Any 77g by chance?

Has anyone else tried shooting it? If no one is able to get it to group and everything else has been checked, you may have gotten a bad barrel.

I mounted it and I'm positive it's not the scope because I bought a new scope thinking it was the crappy one I had on it and yes their groups were worse. Only thing I haven't tried is 70+ grain. I think I've pretty much narrowed to the barrel but is there anything that can be done other than trashing the barrel.

1st:  Try match ammo through it.  I'd suggest Hornady (55gr or 75gr bthp) or Federal gold medal match (69gr).  You only need a box or two to determine what the problem is.  You shoot a group and have a friend shoot a couple groups.

If it still doesn't group, try sending it back.

In my honest opinion?  Daytona Tactical looks like the goobers that set up at the local gunshows and assemble uppers for folks out of Chinese sourced parts.  No manufacturer info about their receivers, rails, bolt carrier groups, or barrels.  The barrels look "cool" with the fluting and paint jobs, but underneath it all they're garbage.

I agree. I had a buddy say he had a good experience so I took a shot in the dark I'm not even 200 rds in and I'm on my 3rd extractor and an unsightable barrel. It's just gonna end up being cheaper to change the barrel then buy all match quality ammo.

If it were me, I'd put several boxes of quality ammo through it just to be sure.  Try a box of federal gold medal at 100yds and see what shakes out.

I hope it works for you as I don't have high hopes for a refund.

The gun show builders piss me off.  They lie about parts origin (had one tell me they made their own barrels when asked where they came from) and they make ridiculous claims.

If the barrel won't shoot, sell it to your buddy who turned you on to them.  I figure he owes you that at least.

Have you checked that the barrel nut is tightened properly? Headspace/jump checks?
Hopefully it's as simple as a slightly loose barrel shifting between shots.
