I am looking for a new handguard and had a friend recommend the Aero Precision Quantum series.  THey look nice and he really likes his.  Here is the problem, they list lengths of 12" and 15".  I have a rifle length gas system on this build with an Odin Works adjustable gas block.  I measured my current handguard and it is about 12.5".  So if I can't get the 15" version because it will cover my adjustable block.  I am concerned that the 12' version will leave a gap of half inch or so between the front end of the handguard and the back side of the gas block.  I have emailed Aero Precision twice and they don't seem to understand my question.  I am hoping that some of you might have some appropriate information for me.

Thanks

Budget is an issue for this build so I am not looking to spend $150-$200 for a new handguard.

So do you not want your gas block covered? The Aero rails have a large ID, should cover your gas block fine. The 12" handguard will leave the front portion of the GB exposed. Did I interpret your question correctly??

And yet another rifle-length gas system owner like me can't find quality handguards with the proper 12.6" length.

Midwest industries makes a quad rail that fits properly on a rifle length system without exposing the gas tube

I just want the front end of the handguard to run right up to the back of the gas block without leaving any of the gas tube showing.  I can't cover the gas block because I need access to the adjustments.  What I would really like to get is the Midwest Industries 3GM free float Gen 3 handguard.  The listed length for it is 12.625" so it is a little over half an inch longer than the Aero Precision which makes me believe the Aero Precision would leave a holf inch of gas tube showing.  But I am not paying $180 for the Midwest Industries handguard.

I have never been a fan of the quad rail handguards, too bulky for me.

Adjustment screw on that block faces the muzzle, yes?

Any reason that you can't get a long allen key to make the adjustments?

In that case, you can run a 15 just fine.

Just another option for you.

I have an Odin under a 15" handguard, easy to adjust from the end. A 12" just leaves the front 1/3 uncovered.

I have a 15" M-LOK on a 16" midi barrel, and was able to adjust the SLR gas block through one of the M-LOK slots with the supplied allen wrench.

12" is actually 12.75", or rifle length. It will come up flush to your gas block.
